I’m a CNN junkie and I always find it odd when I see my home town, Toledo, Ohio, on the ticker at the bottom of the screen. Over the weekend, we found ourselves scrolling along the bottom of CNN because of the bomb threat at Toledo Express Airport.
I hadn’t yet heard about the false alarm so it kind of freaked me out (partly because my mom was flying home that day; she came in through Detroit though so it caused her no problems).
I remember the Toledo Riots two Octobers ago. I was in the Upper Peninsula so I first read about it in the local newspaper, The Mining Journal. We got a small, two inch column in the Nation section (and they had some facts about the Old Polish Village wrong). Then I saw coverage on the news.
Strange, I don’t know which I prefer: Bridges breaking and riots and bomb threats in my home town or having to read about Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise in my home town.
